As an introduction to the round table there will be presentation of activities that has been and will be conducted by Croatia in order to fulfill requirements of European Directive on radioactive waste.
2011 European directive on radioactive waste puts very ambitious target in front of Member states, no matter of the size of the nuclear program that they have. One of the milestones of the Directive is development and reporting European Commission on Program of for the management of spent fuel and radioactive waste (‘national programe’), covering all types of spent fuel and radioactive waste under its jurisdiction and all stages of spent fuel and radioactive waste management from generation to disposal according to the predefined detailed content including financial provisions and public involvement. The deadline for this activity is 23. of August 2015. For some countries, especially the small one, this is going to be a challenge. It is expected that following discussion should be concentrated on problems which arise from experience in fulfillment of Directive requirements.
